Angelica Panganiban, a Filipino American actress and model who also works as a television hostess and comedian. The youngest contestant ever to compete on the show her score was second. In 2012 when Angelica Hale was just 4 years old, she was very ill with double pneumonia due to a severe strep pneumonia bacterial infection. Angelica Hale desperately needed medical assistance that could save her life and was placed on ECMO life support at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. She went septic and experienced multiple organ failure, including her kidneys, which failed to recover. Her new normal was peritoneal and then hemolysis. After spending over 80 days in hospital, she went from being in danger of death to an extended recovery path. Angelica had been being on dialysis for the past year and a half before finally being able to undergo the most important surgery of her entire life, a kidney transplant. The donor kidney would come from none other than her mom. Angelica as well as her mother, went through an organ transplant successfully on September 13, 2013 at two incredible hospitals located right next to each other: Emory University Hospital & Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. Angelica Hale, a young teenager from Atlanta, who always wanted to be an actress as well as a performer she is still working toward this dream.
